Conflict between humans and elephants in constantly increasing due to human population growth placing pressure on the animal’s habitats. At Forest BB Mallesh in India an Elephant Project Directorate is being set-up to help deal with the problem. – Deccan Herald

Wild elephant attacks rickshaw

A wild elephant attacked a rickshaw and a house in the Thondur village in India. Villagers attempted to scare the elephant away with firecrackers. A couple of people were injured but no one died.
