Zoo finds WW2 ‘elephant angel’

Earlier I reported that the Bellevue Zoo in Belfast was looking for the family that took care of the elephant Shelia during WWII. Shelia was cared for by Denise Austin, whose nephew, David Ramsey, recently came forward. David said his cousin was eccentric, lived alone and only kept the elephant at night.

Phnom Tamao Wildlife Rescue Center gives baby elephant new lease on life

The Phnom Tamao Wildlife Rescue Center is in Cambodia. Two years ago they rescued an elephant, named Chhouk, who had been injured by a snare trap. He is one of 8 elephants living at the rescue center.
