Construction on elephant sanctuary to start this summer

“Construction on the National Elephant Center, an organization formed by zoos throughout the country, will begin this summer and the first elephants should arrive by October 2009, according to Jeff Sabin, a Waste Management spokesman. The center will be based on 300 acres in western St. Lucie County, near the Okeechobee county line, and the entrance to the center will be in Okeechobee.” – TCPalm
